The paper examines the profound connection between aesthetics, ethics, and philosophical anthropology in Ortega y Gasset’s thought, in order to clarify the ethical value of art in human life. It shows how art can overcome the tragedy of science by creating horizons of meaning capable of safeguarding the human being from the problematic and serious character of life. In this perspective, the analysis explores the concepts of sympathy and abstraction, focusing on the absolute presence of the aesthetic object, as well as on the irrealización and dehumanization of art.
