Peer Review Process
Etica-mente. L’annuario adopts a rigorous and transparent peer review process in accordance with international standards of scholarly publishing and the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1. General Principles
All research articles submitted to Etica-mente. L’annuario are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process, ensuring anonymity of both authors and reviewers throughout the evaluation.
The peer review process aims to guarantee:

relevance to the journal’s scope;

2. Types of Contributions and Review Procedures
The journal publishes different types of contributions, which are subject to distinct evaluation procedures:
Research Articles

Subject to double-blind peer review.

Each submission is evaluated by at least two independent external reviewers with recognized expertise in the relevant field.

Reviewers are selected by the Editorial Team based on competence, absence of conflicts of interest, and institutional diversity.
Essays

Evaluated through editorial review by the Editorial Team.

Essays are not subject to anonymous external peer review.
Reviews

3. Anonymity and Confidentiality
Authors are required to submit manuscripts that are fully anonymized, including the removal of any identifying information from the text and file properties.
Reviewers are required to treat all submitted materials as confidential and to disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
4. Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers’ reports, the Editor-in-Chief or the Managing Editor may decide to:

accept the manuscript;

request minor or major revisions;

reject the manuscript.
The final decision rests with the Editorial Board.
5. Ethical Standards
The journal adheres to the principles of publication ethics and malpractice prevention as defined by COPE.
Cases of plagiarism, redundant publication, or unethical research practices are handled according to these guidelines.
