This article offers a scholarly analysis of soul “healing” in Hermeticism, Gnosticism and Platonism, addressing Plato’s theory of the One from a new perspective. Protology is presented as a starting point for soul healing. By examining this interpretative framework, the validity of one aspect of Giovanni Reale’s protological proposal regarding Plato’s unwritten doctrines is reevaluated. In this article, Plato is described as a monist philosopher rather than a dualist. Reflection on duality leads to an analysis of both the Gnostic cross and Heidegger’s Geviert. Ultimately, the healed soul ascends, and the spirit returns to its rightful, primordial, place.
